One Day Without Shoes will be on May 10th this year.  If your child would like to participate in this one day event, I need you to fill out the permission slip that was sent home and return it to school.  I will forward an email with some resources that explain why we participate in this cause.  If your child doesn't want to go the whole day without wearing shoes, that is OK too.

Mileage Club: Are you interested in spending some time on the playground?  Mileage club is looking for volunteers.  Please consider signing up to cover a shift or two. Dates are Wednesday 4/13, 4/20, 4/27, 5/4, 5/11, 5/18, 5/25, 6/1.  1st shift is from 10:20 - 11:50 and 2nd shift is 11:35 - 1:15Please contact Angie at adlayne28@gmail.com

Next week is the last Box Top competition for the year.  Send in any box tops you have around the house sometime next week.


This week we found out how astronauts explore new places in the informational text Working in Space. We pondered outer space further when we read Space Poems. Children also explored the question “What can you learn from headings and captions?”

Target Vocabulary: astronomy, force, orbit, repair, explored, future, space, float 

Phonics Skills: Words with vowel diphthongs ow (cow), ou (pound)
