Thank you to Mrs. Weaver for being our first guest reader for March.  She chose a real tongue twister!!!  Fox in Socks

We finally wrapped up Module 5 this week.  Please look for both the Mid-Module and the End of Module Assessments.  If you notice that your child is still struggling with the addition and subtraction of 3-digit numbers, please try to keep practicing at home.  I will continue to practice at school as well.  My recommendation would be to pick one strategy that works for your child and stick with it until mastery.  All the different strategies are great for some kids but will also confuse others.

Module 6:  Foundations of Multiplication and Division

This selection gave us information to use as we think about the question “How do you know which facts are important?

We are a bit behind in social studies.  One of these weeks, we are just going to have a social studies party to catch up.  We are slowly picking away at map skills.  Eventually we will turn our focus to continents and oceans.  Then we need to get started on our economics unit.  As you can see, we have a lot of topics to cover.  I usually am able to catch up on everything towards the end of the year because we will be in a less demanding spot with language arts and math.
